Hello, my name is Sherry and I am the original Professor JellyBean! EST. 2005
Fifteen years ago I created the Professor JellyBean science workshops and birthday parties. Since that time, I have engaged thousands (so many thousands) of children in really fun science activities. My goal way back then was simple: To foster children's natural curiosity and wonderment of the world around them; creating a rich and positive childhood memory.
My background in Art enabled me to create science activities that were truly unique and creative (Yes we do things quite differently here at Professor JellyBean). Additionally, having worked many years prior with children, I understood how important it would be for Professor JellyBean to communicate with children in a positive and empowering way. We also promise to be honest and fair.
(BTW: I do not have a science degree but this hasn't stopped Professor JellyBean getting down and dirty with the nitty gritty of science-we know all the cool sciencey stuff too!)
Over the years, Professor JellyBean has evolved and grown to become the #1 choice for Teachers, the Outside School Hours Care sector and Families. Kids absolutely love our science activities and Professor JellyBean!
The best thing I love hearing from the children when they’ve had a day with Professor JellyBean:
“This is the best day of my life!”
I LOVE my job and I am extremely grateful for the many years I have worked "out in the field" with the children. I have retired my Professor JellyBean lab coat for now, instead working in our office (yes, you'll most likely be chatting with me when you ring). I am still busy continually developing our workshops and our new stage show.
In 2018, I completed the Earth Charter Education for Sustainable Development course so that our work could continue to be relevant for our changing world. I think I will always search to find ways to reveal the wonders of our world with children because I just love their reactions to new experiences and the world around them.
Moving forward with Professor JellyBean, we will be building on our current incursion science activities to strengthen children’s understandings of Earth’s ecological systems and how they are personally tied into those systems--BUT still always making it all really fun and super, super cool!
Hello, I'm Marissa and I've put on the lab coat and taken on the Professor JellyBean role for the past 10 years.
You'll see me entertaining the kids with our amazing science activities when I visit your school (primary & early child care), OSHC centre or at your birthday party.
Prior to becoming Professor JellyBean, I worked in early childcare at Harmony Montessori. I absolutely loved my teaching role; seeing the children learn and grow.
I have also spent time travelling and working in a remote African school. Volunteering while travelling has helped me to renew my commitment to teaching, my commitment to Earth and my commitment to what it means to be human.
I have 2 young children now and they are the best little things ever! They are my“Mini Jelly Beans”
The best thing I love hearing from the children when they’ve had a day with Professor JellyBean:
“I thought science was boring, but this was awesome!”
PS: Here's a little secret about me, the original Professor JellyBean (Sherry) is my Mum!
Hello, my name is Alicia. I have been working at Professor JellyBean for 5 years.
When we visit primary schools or large early child care centres, I'll be the one working alongside Professor JellyBean (Marissa), helping her out to make your day FANTASTIC.
That's not my only role though: I have undertaken the top secret advanced Professor JellyBean training program, so I am honoured to say that I too wear the Professor Jellybean lab coat. I could be hosting your next Professor JellyBean science event! So excited to meet you!
I am a mum to 3 active and inquisitive children who have taught me the real values in life. My family is everything to me.
The coolest thing I've heard from children, especially the young girls, while working as Professor JellyBean: "I want to be a scientist when I grow up"
PS: Here's my little secret. I recently married into the JellyBean family so now the other Professor JellyBean (Marissa) is my sister-in-law and Sherry (the original Professor JellyBean) is my mother-in-law. Gotta love a family business!

The following information and resources were obtained from the Sutainable Development Goals (SDG's) website. If you haven't visited this amazing site, please check it out. There's lots of great information there:
The SDG's are a call for action by all countries – poor, rich and middle-income – to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They recognise that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection. The Sustainable Development Goals are important, world-changing objectives that will require cooperation among governments, international organizations and world leaders.
